If a person’s personal climate – feeling physically safe as a human in this time and place as an African American male in the United States – is not secure, it’s impossible to have any energy left to consider greater climates.
This word is a yearning for a respect for all living beings beginning with other fellow human beings.
Until this basic respect among humans occurs, it will be impossible to grasp and realistically tackle any larger “climates”.
It is a fundamental place the climate movement needs to start.
